The amazing river adventures of Freddie the Seal, which captured headlines for weeks earlier in the year, has been turned into a book, due to be published next month, Nub News has learned.

Co-authors Alison Kelly and Matt Millard were so entranced by the gripping story of Freddie – also known as Freddie Mercury – that they spent two months tracking the seal's background and the remarkable journey from the Netherlands which brought him to the River Thames, until his sad death after a dog attack near Hammersmith.

GET LUCKY LOCAL lottery has partnered with the Wharf restaurant

The Richmond community lottery GET LUCKY LOCAL has joined forces with Teddington's popular riverside restaurant, The Wharf, to help raise funds for Hearts of Teddlothian FC.

As part of a brand new initiative linking the lottery to local restaurants and cafes across the Borough, all customers of The Wharf will be invited to add a discretionary £1 to their lunch or dinner bills.

German supermarket chain Lidl has announced it is looking to double its total number of UK stores, including eight new sites in Richmond Borough.

The chain, whose Head Office is down the road in Wimbledon, is interested in opening 99 more stores in South London alone and is on the hunt for suitable spaces.
