The man who was filmed acosting cyclists after allegedly hitting someone in the head outside Richhmond Park left the scene before police arrived.

Footage of a man standing in the road outside Roehampton Gate and shouting on Tuesday (August 18) has been viewed 90,000 times on Twitter.

Police told Richmond Nub News: "Shortly before 20:00hrs on Tuesday, August 18 police were called to a report of an assault on a cyclist in the vicinity of Priory Lane, SW15.

"Officers from Royal Parks attended on the day, but no suspect was located. A crime report has been recorded.

"Anyone who has information that could help progress the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 and quote CAD7120/18Aug."

The footage was posted by keen rider Anthony Chau, 23, a graduate from Kings College London who completed his Biochemistry Master's degree earlier this year.

He told us the violent incident "represents the most toxic sentiments that the general public have towards cyclist".

"While I applaud the city's commitment to improving cycling infrastructure, a lot more needs to be done with regards to the relationship between motorists and cyclists," Mr Chau said.
