Local football club, Whitton Wanderers Youth FC, are hosting a World Cup watch party this Sunday.

Following their win against Australia on Wednesday, England will play Spain in the final of the Women's World Cup on Sunday.

The event will take place on Sunday 20th August, at Whitton Park Sport Association.

The bar opens at 10:30am and kick off is at 11am.

There will be free soft drinks available for children for a period of time.

Whitton Wanderers run seven girls' teams, as well as a heritage team and this year have created a new role of 'Girls and Women's Football Development Officer' on the committee, as well as having a Girls Welfare Officer and Girls Football Secretary.

In May one of the girls received a special achievement, having scored well over 100 goals in 53 games in a boys' league.
