Saturday, January 21 - Ministry of Science LIVE - Science Saved The World

An explosive show that is described as 100% educational, 200% entertaining and 400% fun.

Dive deep into the world of science and look at how science shapes the modern world we live in with a few loud bangs along the way!

The team will take an anarchic approach to science communication whilst looking at the scientists, engineers and inventors who have shaped the modern world that we live in.

Expect liquid nitrogen clouds, exploding oxygen and hyrdrogen balloons, fire tornados and even a self-built hovercraft.

Tuesday, January 24 -28 – Steel Magnolias

January 23 - February 4 – Two Billion Beats

A return of the this exhilarating production, starring Shala Nyx and Tanvi Virmani, following its acclaimed world premiere at the OT in 2022.

Bouncing with wit, Sonali Bhattacharyya's upbeat play is a coming-of-age story about the unfairness of growing up in a world where you don't make the rules.

Asha, aged 17, is an empathetic rebel, inspired by historical revolutionaries and iconoclasts Sylvia Pankhurst and B R Ambedkar. She's unafraid of pointing out the hypocrisy around her but less sure how to actually dismantle it.

Meanwhile, her younger sister, Bettina, wide-eyed and naïve, is just trying to get through the school day without getting her pocket money nicked.

The production is directed by Nimmo Ismail, whose work includes Glee & Me by Stuart Slade and The Christmas Star by Russell T Davies (both Royal Exchange Manchester).

Funny, satirical and bursting with 90s pop-culture references, this show is the perfect parody both for Buffy aficionados and those who never enrolled at Sunnydale High alike.

Come and support emerging new talented musicians in four heats over two months.

Sunday, January 22 – Sarah McQuaid

Born in Madrid, raised in Chicago and holding dual Irish and American citizenship, Sarah McQuaid has made England her home since 2007.

Sarah was taught piano and guitar at an early age by her folksinging mother, and remembers being inspired by meeting her distant cousin, well-known singer/songwriter Gamble Rogers.

Her early albums featured Irish traditional tunes and Appalachian folk songs, along with her own songs and she soon expanded her repertoire to cover older (medieval) and newer (John Martyn) influences and has continued to explore new instruments and styles.

A group show by recent graduates of Kingston School of Art: Maya Dew, Olivia England, Andy Hurst, Tess James, Omalola Mau, Flo McCarthy and Rosie Robson

An exhibition of sculpture, installation, film and publications that focuses on the value of intuitiveness in art and making

The exhibition is run and curated by Tess James and Rosie Robson of Party Ring Poetry Club - a London based collective organisation that creates safe spaces to share vulnerable words and sound.

January 12-March 5 – Hushed Impressions

Bianca Raffaella is exhibiting as part of the gallery's Emerging Artists Programme.

As a visually impaired artist, she works with essential lines and tactile marks to describe her subjects, whether these are abstracted figures or atmospheric landscapes.

The colour pallets Raffaella chooses are comprised of subtle and faded shades, which are distinctive to her work.

Until October 31 - Black Magic exhibition

Eel Pie Island Museum – Richmond Road

To mark the 35th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK, the museum is hosting a celebration of Black culture and shines a light on some of the many inspiring people of African and Afro-Caribbean heritage in Richmond, who have made the borough a richer, more vibrant place.

From jazz to reggae, this exploration of Black musicians is not simply Black history but Richmond's history. By learning about our culturally diverse past and traditionally unheard voices, we can look forward to the next exciting chapter together.

New exhibition brings iconic and unknown archival documents to life to shed light on the nature of British justice through the ages.

Fascinating stories are explored from the Gunpowder Plot and Anne Boleyn to lesser-known stories of the cook that poisoned the porridge, the girl put on trial for being a witch and the enslaved Baptist preacher.
