It is expected that Richmond and wider London will be placed back under Tier 2 restrictions when the current lockdown ends on December 2, but we will know for sure this Thursday.
A few changes are being made to the different tiers.
Pubs and restaurants will be able to stay open until 11pm under the tweaked Tier 2 rules.
People will only be able to meet indoors or dine in a restaurant with those in their household or support bubble, up to a maximum of six people (Rule of Six).
Alcohol may only be served as part of a meal. This new rule means pubs cannot serve standalone takeaway drinks.
Shops (including those deemed non-essential) will be able to reopen, weddings can be held and amateur sport will resume.
To help traders get back on their feet, we are launching a virtual Christmas market.
The market will be a place where traders can share details of their festive stock, menus, special offers and deals, opening times and more. So if you run a Richmond business, get in touch.
