Jailed… for disturbing the deer of Richmond Park!

Richmond-upon-Thames is landing its very own official Monopoly game and residents have been invited to vote for which town landmarks should feature on the board.

The new version of the world's most popular and famous board game will involve typical addresses, landmarks and playing cards from the original Monopoly game replaced by famous destinations from Richmond.

Kew Palace, Ham House, Richmond Bridge and Twickenham Stadium are among some expected popular choices.

The game is being produced by London-based games giant Winning Moves under licensing from Hasbro.

George Shrimpton of Winning Moves said: "We are sure we will be spoilt for choice putting this new edition together.

"Richmond-upon-Thames is blessed with great cherished and beloved landmarks."

Over the last 20 years Winning Moves has produced official versions of Monopoly from Dubai to Dublin and Sydney to Southampton. Now the dice is ready to roll on Richmond.

The new game will see:

  • sets and cards themed to Richmond-Upon-Thames' heritage, shopping, education, entertainment and more
  • customised Chance and Community Chest cards
  • 30 Richmond-upon-Thames landmarks featured

The new Richmond-upon-Thames Monopoly edition will hit the shops in October 2021.

You can vote for the landmarks and cards you want to see included in the game in three ways:

  1. by email [email protected]
  2. on Facebook via the official The Monopoly: Richmond-upon-Thames Edition game Facebook page
  3. by post to The Monopoly: Richmond-upon-Thames Edition game, Winning Moves, 7 Praed Street, London W2 1NJ

Polling is now underway and closes at 23.59pm on March 24.
