A vigil will be held on Twickenham Green - on Monday – to remember women killed by men.

It is part of a series of initiatives across the borough that are designed to challenge violence against women and girls.

The vigil, which is organised by the Richmond branch of the Women's Equality Party, is held on a Monday at the beginning of every month.

The focal point for the vigil, which begins at 6pm, is the memorial bench for Amélie Delagrange.

Amélie was a French tourist visiting Twickenham in 2004 when she was murdered by serial killer Levi Bellfield.

Richmond Borough Council is accredited by White Ribbon, which is a global campaign that encourages people - especially men and boys - to act and change the behaviour and culture that leads to abuse and violence.

Residents are being invited to take part in a White Ribbon Walk on Friday, February 25.

The walk, which will be led by local councillors, will start from Radnor Gardens at 5.30pm and finish at Twickenham Green.
