Very high tides in Richmond this weekend as January draws to a close

Tides are rising in Richmond as the weekend draws in and the month comes to a close.
There will be noticeably high river levels on the Thames from tomorrow (Friday, January 29).
High tide is at 3.29pm when it will reach a height of 4.7 metres at Richmond Lock. Low tide is 11.36am.
The tides will continue rising on Saturday with a 4.9 metres high tide at 4.11pm.
On the final day of the month (Sunday, January 31), the water is forecast to reach a height of 5.1 metres when high tide happens at 4.54pm.
This is a very high level and means the banks of the Thames will flood.
A flood alert has not yet been issued by the Environment Agency but we'll let you know if or when it is.
Wellies might be a good idea if you're heading to the riverside towpaths for a walk this weekend!
