This news of the end of the life of our longest reigning monarch will be deeply upsetting for many members of our community and the country as a whole at this moment of historic significance. The Government has announced a period of national mourning over the next ten days, and during this time we will have the opportunity to reflect on Queen Elizabeth's life of public service.
"The University will communicate plans for memorial events both on campus and the local area over the coming days, including information for how members of the community can watch the state funeral. You will notice during the period of national mourning that I and other senior colleagues will be in mourning wear, and you may also wish to do so or to wear a black armband."
