Londoners are invited to rise above their fear of heights and take on an adrenaline-fueled 52 metre climb over a London landmark to support medics who save lives every day.

London Ambulance Service is inviting all intrepid individuals to sign up for an exhilarating charity event that will see climbers conquer the summit of the iconic O2 Arena, in Greenwich, while fundraising to support London Ambulance Charity.

During the 90-minute expedition, climbers will be guided over the roof of The O2 – where a suspended walkway will offer breath-taking views of the city's skyline.

The event will take place on 2 March 2024 and registrations will close on 12 January 2024.

Jess Burgess, Head of London Ambulance Charity at London Ambulance Service, said: "This is going to a heart-pounding adventure that will offer climbers unforgettable panoramic views of our amazing city.

"But it's not all thrills and chills! Londoners have the opportunity to support the wellbeing of paramedics and call handlers, who work tirelessly to save lives and care for the capital every day.

"It's an opportunity to say 'thank you' for the vital work our workforce does for this busy city, day in and day out."

Participants are asked to raise £150 in sponsorship to help support the London Ambulance Charity.

The Charity, set up in 1997, supports staff at London Ambulance Service by funding wellbeing initiatives for frontline crews and call handlers, providing financial hardship support, and helps save more lives by training London communities in life-saving CPR skills.

Earlier this year, London Ambulance Charity funded the Service's roll out of a ground-breaking campaign that vows to train tens of thousands of secondary school children in London to learn life-saving skills.

If you are interested in supporting the charity's vital work by taking on a new challenge, register for this event here. A registration fee of £25 will apply.
