Visitors to Richmond upon Thames can now book to learn more about The Poppy Factory this summer and autumn.
Tickets have been released for discovery sessions up to the end of November at the charity's visitor centre, based in the factory where veterans work year-round making Remembrance wreaths by hand – a tradition established more than 100 years ago.
These sessions, which are open to individual visitors and small groups, include a hosted presentation with time to explore the exhibition and try making wreaths and poppies.
Guests can also choose to enjoy hot drinks and cakes in a unique setting, against a backdrop of regimental and specialist Royal wreaths that are produced on site by the skilled production team.
Visitors will hear how the first group of injured veterans came to work at The Poppy Factory after the First World War and the part they played in establishing the Remembrance tradition.
Residents will also learn how the employment support that began in factory developed and grew, enabling the charity to support members of the Armed Forces community all over the UK.
Groups of 25 or more can also choose a time to visit this summer and autumn through The Poppy Factory's website, with tickets for sessions up to the end of the year held at 2023 prices until the end of August.
Visitor centre host David Beaumont said: "It's always enjoyable to stand in front of groups and tell them the amazing story of the origins of The Poppy Factory, which most people don't know even though they wear a poppy in November.
"It's an amazing tradition that we are a part of here, and it's important that we carry that on and continue to inspire younger generations."
Funds raised through The Poppy Factory's visitor centre go towards the charity's Veteran & Family Services, helping members of the Armed Forces community to build brighter futures in communities across England and Wales.
