OSO Arts Centre in Barnes celebrates its 25th anniversary as a venue with an ambitious fundraising campaign.

The #25for25 campaign aims to raise £25,000 to support the venue, with a packed line up of events and shows.

The theme of the spring season is 'Stories that Unite', delving into how shared experiences can forge a sense of belonging and understanding.

Lisa Ross, OSO General Manager, said: "This is an exciting year for the OSO and all those involved – our staff, volunteers, performers, OSO Members and all of our supporters who have truly put the OSO on the map, not only as a professional fringe theatre, but also as a much-loved local café plus a space to support our local community.

"Do join us throughout 2025 and come and see for yourself."

The OSO Arts Centre is a professional fringe 130 seat Theatre in the heart of Barnes Village, overlooking Barnes Green.

The Centre is usually a receiving house, but this year they will host their first ever in-house shows, starting with 'Things I Know to be True', written by Andrew Bovell on 4 April.

Ross said: "We are offering 25 £15 tickets on the first night of some of our longer shows, making theatre even more accessible, alongside our Ticket Subsidy Scheme which offers free and reduced-price tickets to those on low incomes or who require a carer's ticket."

Fundraising events include the Big Barnes Quiz and the 25th Anniversary Ball (credit: Richmondgov.uk).

Other upcoming events include the children's events 'The Naughty Fox' and 'Noisy Dinosaur' on 29 March.

The #25for25 campaign promises plenty of fun fundraising events and celebrity guests to reach its goal.

This includes the Big Barnes Quiz on 26 April, hosted by Hilary Whitehall, Tracy Edwards MBE and Anne Mullins.

All proceeds from the event will go to the campaign and attendees will be treated to a delicious dinner.

The centre will mark the anniversary with a Black Tie 25th Anniversary Ball on 6 September, with raffles, auctions and live music on Barnes Green.

Ross said: "This evening promises to be the social event of the Barnes summer calendar."

Audiences will also have the opportunity to choose between Oasis and Abba tribute bands or a country music band on the OSO Outdoor Stage.

The outdoor stage has sold out shows over the last couple of years, including Queen and Elton John tribute bands.
