Richmond's first "twinning baby" has made the final of the national Miss British Isles competition.

Davina Marsh, who is in her early 20s, currently works as a Front of House Receptionist at The Petersham Hotel in Richmond.

She will compete to win a prize worth £10,000 at the final of the UK-wide competition which takes place at the Final Furlong Marquee of Chester Racecourse on Friday 3 September.

Davina, who was born in 1999, has an amazing backstory as her parents met in Richmond while celebrating the town's twinship with the German town of Konstanz.

Her mother Edwina met James, from Richmond, while on an exchange from Konstanz in 1990.

The pair fell in love during the celebrations and James proposed in 1991.

They married in the spring of the next year during a civil ceremony in Richmond, with an official from Konstanz also present.

Their church wedding in Mainau was followed by a 3-week honeymoon to Athens before the pair settled down in Whitton.
