Two teenagers accused of the violent robbery of a 13-year-old boy, which was captured on video and viewed more than 4.5m, times have been given bail.

The two – aged 15 and 13 – appeared at Wimbledon Youth Court on Wednesday, following the alleged offence which occurred last Sunday.

The two were charged with robbery, including taking the victim's coat, jumper and shoes, at Wanborough Drive, on the Alton estate, Roehampton, which borders Richmond Park golf course.

The accused were bailed with conditions and are due to appear again in court on March 15.

The video of the incident has been viewed millions of times on social media and the alleged victim won support from thousands of people. These included the former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, Chelsea's John Terry, the rapper Silky, and former SAS sergeant and author, Chris Ryan.

Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 19.00 hours on Sunday, February 27, to Wanborough Drive, Roehampton.

"It was reported a teenage boy had been assaulted by a group of people who stole his jacket as well as other personal possessions."

Despite the fact the video has been seen millions of times, the police warned that people should be 'mindful' about sharing material that could prejudice legal proceedings.
