The award-winning Apple TV+ comedy drama series TED LASSO spent a day filming at various locations around Richmond Green for the eagerly-anticipated Series Three and Nub News captured the moments.

Writer and Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis was on the scene for most of the day, supervising the filming at locations at Brewers Green, Pembroke Villas and the narrow shopping street Paved Court where Ted's fictional home and his local pub are set.

The star happily posed for photos for fans of the show and walked casually across The Green between set locations with only one security guard, wearing a high-viz vest, in tow.

The first location was the So Bar in Brewers Green where a big black curtain shielded the internal filming but a stream of young 'extras' ( perhaps, bar customers) were seen moving in and out of the area and basing themselves in The Cricketers pub, which was closed for the day.

Work had begun earlier in the day with scaffolding erected outside the nearby Prince's Head pub which was swiftly converted into Ted's local watering hole, The Crown & Anchor with the signs being replaced and the pub closed to the public and only open for the crew and the cast.

Ted's sidekick in the show and co-writer, Coach Beard, played by Brendan Hunt told Nub News he had 'fallen in love" with Richmond since they had started filming in the area. Actual filming for Series Three started in mid-February at West London Studios and football scenes are shot at nearby Hayes and Yeading United football club.

Two of the series top British stars, Nat played by Nick Mohammed and Rupert, played by Anthony Head, the former husband of AFC Richmond's owner, Rebecca, played by another British star, Hannah Waddingham, were involved in the filming at the So Bar.

One local retailer said: "Ted Lasso has really put this tiny area on the map. We have tourists visiting from all over the world taking photos outside the pub and Ted's front door. It has done wonders for the local economy."

Lasso creator Jason and his team of co-writers, who have won SEVEN Emmys, have not revealed when Series 3 will be seen on TV but show insiders have told Nub News that it is hoped for October, although COVID and weather may impact the final transmission date.

The show is crammed full of cliff hanger storylines such as whether Ted will finally get together with club owner Rebecca, whether assistant coach Nat will return to AFC Richmond from West Ham United and whether tough guy Roy Kent, played by Brett Goldstein and his PR girlfriend Keeley, played by Juno Temple will stay together.

One newcomer to the cast will be South African actress Jodi Balfour, who plays the role of 'Jack' described as a 'charming venture capitalist.' She played Jackie Kennedy in season two of The Crown.
