Strong turnout for walk to challenge violence against women and girls
The White Ribbon Torch Walk from Mortlake to Barnes Ponds drew a strong turnout.
The event, which was designed to raise awareness around violence against women and girls (VAWG), is the first of a series linked to White Ribbon Day.
It was well attended by the local community and the mayor, Cllr Julia Cambridge, alongside the Council leader, Cllr Gareth Roberts, and Richmond Park MP, Sarah Olney MP.
The walk comes ahead of November 25, which marks the first day of 16 Days of Action against Gender-Based Violence.
