Care Assistants Jean and Fe from Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham have been honoured as finalists for the Stars of Social Care Awards 2024.

Stars of Social Care is a national awards programme for home care workers across the UK.

The awards are set to be hosted by TV presenter Josie Gibson at The Marriott Regents Park next month.

Winners will be selected by a panel of expert judges, including the CEO of Care England, Martin Green OBE.

Jean, a dedicated Care Assistant, has been praised for her commitment and compassionate approach to caregiving by customers and colleagues alike.

Reacting to Jean's nomination, Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham Training Manager, Natasha says: "Jean is a one-in-a-million carer. She has the X-factor. Everyone adores her.

"She walks into a room and makes everyone smile… she is that type of person.

"She makes you feel good about yourself. Jean looks after her customers with her whole heart.

"If every carer was like Jean, the world would be a better place."

Fe, a seasoned Live-In Care Assistant, brings eleven years of experience to her role as a Bluebird caregiver.

Her nomination is a testament to her approach to caregiving, particularly in empowering her clients to regain independence and live life to the fullest.

Mr I has been one of Fe's customers for the past two years and his nephew says: "When we met Fe, a lot of our trust in carers had gone due to our experience with the care home.

"We had a lot of reassurance from the team about her experience, her previous customer feedback and so on, but we approached the arrangement with a fair amount of trepidation.

"Fe was calm, quiet and determined. She immediately took the lead and focused my uncle's support on rehabilitation so he could regain more independence."

Mr I's nephew adds: "Fe cares deeply about his well-being and happiness. That is all we've ever wanted.

"My uncle is thriving; he couldn't be happier. He is at home, surrounded by his memories, and is comfortable and as fit as he possibly can be.

"This is all thanks to Fe and the team at Bluebird Care."
