FIRST LOOK: Orange Tree Theatre releases production images for In Praise of Love

Orange Tree Theatre (OT) in Richmond has unveiled first-look images from its latest production of In Praise of Love by Terence Rattigan.
Set in 1970s England, In Praise of Love tells the story of Estonian refugee Lydia Cruttwell and her husband Sebastian, a sharp-tongued Marxist literary critic.

Both former wartime intelligence officers, their marriage is built on secrecy – but when Lydia's old flame, American author Mark Walters, arrives, everything starts to unravel.

The play, directed by Amelia Sears, is described as a "haunting and provocative" exploration of truth, love, and deception.
It's loosely inspired by the real-life relationship between actor Rex Harrison and his wife, Kay Kendall.

The cast features Orange Tree returnees Claire Price, Daniel Abelson, and Dominic Rowan, alongside rising talent Joe Edgar.
OT has previously won praise for its revivals of Rattigan's French Without Tears and While the Sun Shines.

The Creative team:
- Director: Amelia Sears
- Designer: Peter Butler
- Lighting: Bethany Gupwell
- Sound & Music: Elizabeth Purnell
- Casting: Helena Palmer CDG
- Production Manager: Pam Nichol

In Praise of Love runs from 24 May to 5 July 2025. To find out more visit OT's website here.
