3. The African Emperor: The Life of Septimius Severus with Simon Elliott - Books on the Rise

Into Roman history? Then this Richmond event is for you! (credit: Books on the Rise).

About: Join Books on the Rise for a deep dive into the life of Roman emperor Septimius Severus with historian and archeologist Simon Elliott.

Septimius Severus was Rome's black emperor. Born in the blistering heat of a North African spring in Leptis Magna AD 145, he died in the freezing cold of a northern British winter in York in AD 211.

A giant of an emperor, whose career can be counted in superlatives, Severus was in power at the height of Rome's might. He led the largest army to ever campaign in Britain, comprising 50,000 men, part of a Roman military establishment which peaked at 33 legions under his rule.

4. The Crawdaddy Club - The Turk's Head

This promises to be an unforgettable night of world-class blues right on Twickenham's doorstep (credit: Image supplied).

About: The legendary Crawdaddy Club is set to welcome the Chris Corcoran Trio for their debut performance this weekend at The Turk's Head.

Chris Corcoran has earned a reputation as one of the UK's finest blues guitarists, praised for his deep groove and swinging style. 

Joining him as a special guest will be the outstanding Elsie Franklin, a rising star whose soulful vocals and guitar work are winning her fans across the country.
