More than 60 former pupils returned to Kew House School last month for the school's first ever alumni evening, bringing together past students and teachers.

The event welcomed back "Kew Housians" from across different year groups, many of whom had not seen each other since leaving school.

The evening was described as warm and uplifting, with former pupils catching up, sharing stories and reflecting on where life has taken them since their time at the school.

Founder of Kew House School, Maria Gardener, welcomed alumni back to the campus and spoke about the joy of seeing former pupils return.

"These are my pupils. I used to teach them when they were eleven years old," she said. "Watching them grow into such wonderful young people is incredibly special."

Former students spoke fondly about their time at Kew House and their journeys since leaving, which include degree apprenticeships at Dyson, engineering degrees, careers in medicine and law, and even studying overseas on a rowing scholarship in the United States.

As they walked through classrooms and corridors once again, memories quickly resurfaced.

One group recalled building a Formula 24 race car and competing at Goodwood, complete with a dent still visible on the pit wall, while others laughed about spending every break time chatting on the same sofa.

One alumnus said: "I left this school with so much pride — it's really lovely to be back."
