A national furniture retailer has submitted a planning application to install new signage at its upcoming Richmond store.

Sofas & Stuff, a UK-based sofa chain, is looking to take over the former Bimba y Lola site on Hill Street.

The business has applied to Richmond Council for permission to display a number of branded signs on the premises.

The application, submitted by ID Planning on behalf of the retailer, proposes the installation of one non-illuminated double-sided projecting sign facing Hill Street, two fascia signs featuring the brand's name in halo-illuminated letters, and a corner fascia sign with a halo-illuminated satin silver feather logo.

In its submission, ID Planning said: "The proposed works involve the permanent installation of signage in connection with the opening of a 'Sofas & Stuff' furniture store.

"Sofas & Stuff is a growing national furniture retailer offering handmade bespoke sofas, chairs, beds and mattresses.

"The signage is in-keeping with the Sofas & Stuff brand identity, while the locations, scale, materiality and illumination of the signs are directly informed by the character of surrounding signage within the Conservation Area."

Sofas & Stuff currently operates 24 showrooms across the UK, including nearby locations in Surrey, Chelsea, and Battersea.
