A party in Richmond Park was disrupted and a number of the guests left with fines yesterday evening.

It was taking place in the Isabella Plantation botanical garden area close to Ham Gate.

Six people were given fines for breaches of Covid-19 regulations and four people fled the scene, police said.

People are only allowed to meet one person from another household under current rules. This increases to six people from up to two households on March 29 under the roadmap out of lockdown.

Royal Parks Police said: "Officers responded to reports of a birthday party in the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park yesterday evening (Tuesday, March 9).

"Four people ran from police, six were issued with fixed penalty notices for breaching covid regulations."
