Six winning designs in Mayor of Richmond's Christmas card contest

Six budding young artists have been selected from more than 400 entries this festive season to design the Mayor of Richmond and council leader's annual Christmas cards.

After a tough judging session, the below young people were picked to design three Christmas cards – one for each of the mayor, deputy mayor and council leader.

Noelia Ramsay (Age 6) St Mary's & St Peter's Primary School (Leader's Card)

Benji Baker (Age 10) St Mary's & St Peter's Primary School (Mayor's Cards)

Deniz Ergin (Age 6) Barnes Primary School (Mayor's Cards)

Amelie Cherry (Age 9) St Mary's & St Peter's Primary School (Mayor's Cards)

Runners up

Ellen Bunn (Age 6) St Mary's & St Peter's Primary School

Erik Eggers (Age 6) Kew College

Gabriella Grech (Age 10) St Mary Magdalen's

Bella Read (Age 11) St Marys & St Peters Primary School

Fynn Thaly-Fischer (Age 5) Collis School

The Christmas cards will be sent to the many groups, businesses and charities that the council and mayor have worked with throughout the year.

Mayor Cllr Geoff Acton said: "The standard of the entries for my card competition was amazing!

"Thank you to all the children who took part. I could see that you worked really hard on your designs.

"For me, Benji's, Deniz and Amelie's creations really stood out. These three young artists showed off their talent and the designs will look fantastic on my Christmas cards."

Richmond Council leader Cllr Gareth Roberts said: "We asked for top notch drawings and by Rudolph our local children didn't disappoint!

"And with over 400 festive favourites to choose from the job of judging was incredibly difficult.

"It's safe to say every single entry made it onto my Nice List but the designs by Arthur, Luke and Noelia, a really caught my eye.

"Well done to all who took part."
