Armed police raided a property in Isleworth yesterday – Tuesday - after reports of a gunshot.

Video posted on social media captured dramatic footage as dozens of officers descended on the three-bed house on London Road, near Old Isleworthians sports ground and the rail station, at lunchtime.

A man was arrested on suspicion of firing a gun in public.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 12.16pm on Tuesday, March 14, to a report of a person with a firearm on London Road, Isleworth. Officers, including specialist firearms officers, attended. One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a public place. No injuries were reported.

"Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference 2956/14MAR. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org."
