A man who killed a baby swan in Richmond Park is still being sought by the police.

It was an infamous incident which caused uproar among the Richmond community and park users.

Royal Parks Police said the jogger "kicked a newborn cygnet out of his way instead of going around".

The attack took place on Monday, June 8 at about 5.30pm near Pen Ponds in the centre of the park.

Tragically, the cygnet died of its injuries, despite being taken to the Swan Sanctuary charity whose medical experts tried to save its life.

Police issued a description of the suspect.

He was said to be a white man, about 60 years old, 5ft 6, with grey but balding hair and wearing black running shorts and a vest with a logo on it.

Anyone with information is asked to call 07920 586546 and quote reference 0705738/20.
