New traffic restrictions to be introduced in congested Richmond neighbourhood:

New traffic restrictions will come into force in a congested South West London neighbourhood with streets so narrow they force pedestrians into the road.

Richmond Council approved restrictions on North Worple Way to tackle problems caused by rat-run drivers trying to dodge congestion on Mortlake High Street.

Richmond Park MP demands Ministers publish Thames Water collapse contingency plan:

The MP for Richmond Park, Sarah Olney, has today demanded Ministers publish their contingency plan in the event of Thames Water collapsing. 

Olney raised the issue with an urgent point of order in the House of Commons, after her previous efforts to get the Government to publish the plans through Parliamentary Questions were refused.

Kew Gardens submits planning application for summer exhibition:

Kew Gardens has submitted a planning application for their summer exhibition. 

The application, submitted by Donald Insall Associates, on behalf of Kew Gardens, is to install 14 sculptures, by the artist Marc Quinn, in the eastern part of the Royal Botanic Gardens. 

Marc Quinn is a leading contemporary artist specializing in the human interaction with the world, identity, and social history.

Richmond Council and local MPs calls for Government to extend Household Support Fund:

Richmond Council has written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, calling on the Government to extend the Household Support Fund in next week's budget.

Record levels of fuel grant support provided by Richmond Council this winter:

Up to £225,000 will be paid out by Richmond Council to households in the borough who are struggling to pay their annual fuel bills, an increase of over £78,000 compared to last year.

A total of 1,326 households in Richmond upon Thames have been granted £170 each which will be deducted from their energy bills via their utility company.
