KFC has opened a new 'small box' outlet in Richmond to feed an insatiable demand for fried chicken and fast food.
The outlet in Kew Road will also fuel the booming home delivery market with its ranks of mopeds that now buzz through the streets.
Just as Nando's opened a small mini version of the restaurant in Twickenham to match the larger one near Richmond Bridge, now KFC is expanding its local empire into Richmond.
KFC claims the new outlet, which has a rugby theme, will create some 30 new jobs to the local area and it is currently recruiting.
Angelina Mouralidarane, Commercial Director for the Iceking Group, which owns KFC and other franchises, said: "We've been keen to bring KFC's delicious fried chicken to Richmond for some time, and we're so excited to be finally frying up our fan favourites.
"It's great to be bringing jobs to the local area, and we can't wait to open our doors to the community."
"We're so egg-cited to welcome our new customers, that we're giving away a free Colonel tote bag to each of our first 100 customers."
The chain, whch was founded in Utah in the US in 1952 by Colonel Harland Sanders, has over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
The group is signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment, a set of six criteria that have been designed to improve the rearing of the birds.
