Richmond's top cop vows to 'rebuild trust' after clashes at vigil

The leader of the police in Richmond has spoken after fury over the way a vigil on Clapham Common was policed.
Images of women being detained on the ground by officers were shared widely and led to calls for Met Police commissioner Cressida Dick to resign.
Chief Supt Elisabeth Chapple is the leader of the Met Police's South West basic command unit (BCU) which comprises Richmond, Kingston, Wandsworth and Merton.
She said: "To all the public, communities, partners, critical friends, police officers, staff and volunteers of South West London, I know and understand that this morning we are in a difficult place.
"We will work hard, with you, to re-build trust and hope there are many better days to come."
In Twickenham, a floral tribute has been created on the bench dedicated to murdered French student Amelié Delagrange's.
