The Richmond community lottery GET LUCKY LOCAL has joined forces with Teddington's popular riverside restaurant, The Wharf, to help raise funds for Hearts of Teddlothian FC.

As part of a brand new initiative linking the lottery to local restaurants and cafes across the Borough, all customers of The Wharf will be invited to add a discretionary £1 to their lunch or dinner bills.

For every £1 paid by the customers The Wharf will match it £ for £ and the total amount of money will be used to purchase tickets for the lottery draw at the end of the month.

As well as 50p in the £ going to the Hearts of Teddlothian FC any winnings from the tickets will also go to the football club. Cash prizes range from £25 to a £25.000 jackpot.

Co-founder of the GET LUCKY LOCAL not-for-profit community lottery, Mark Taylor said: "As we all know lots of local good causes and charities across the Borough have been struggling to keep their heads above water during the pandemic and this is a really way to help.

"If we can enlist other restaurants or cafes do adopt the scheme we can choose other good causes each month and they can benefit as well which will be on top of the regular lottery players who support their cause."

Chair of Hearts FC, Jatish Mistry said: "We are very grateful for this fantastic gesture of support at a very difficult time for organisations like ours.

"It's great that the community can pull together and help like this. We need help in order to continue to offer football for all abilities as well as expand our service."

Hearts of Teddlothian FC was founded in Teddington in 2007 and 750 children, aged between 5-18 use the club.
