Richmond Society to host local elections 2026 hustings
By Cesar Medina 15th Apr 2026
The Richmond Society is set to host the first hustings of this year's local elections tomorrow evening (Thursday, 16 April).
Candidates from North Richmond, South Richmond and Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside wards will be in attendance at Duke Street Church to take questions from the public.
A Richmond Society committee member and former Head of BBC TV News, Roger Mosey, will moderate the debate, which is set to feature candidates from the Liberal Democrats, Green, Labour and Conservative parties.
A representative from Reform UK is also set to appear, having put forward seven candidates in those wards.
Mosey said: "The parties wanting to win your votes will be making their case at an event in Richmond on Thursday evening.
"We'll be debating the key issues in this local election campaign - from the state of the town centre to the benefits or otherwise of e-bikes.
"This is an important moment because the whole council is up for election, so the new administration will be in power for the next four years."
The hustings begin at 7:30pm and will be streamed online via Zoom.
Residents who want tickets to attend in person or online must register here.
