A moped rider has been prosecuted and ordered to pay £1,800 following a road rage attack in Richmond Park.

The 23-year-old appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates court this week in relation to a series of offences linked to a confrontation that happened last summer.

Royal Parks police said: "On 18/01/22 at Wimbledon Magistrates court, a 23-year-old male from Hammersmith was convicted of criminal damage and driving without due care and attention.

"The incident occurred on 17/07/21 in Richmond Park after a road rage incident between a driver and the rider of a moped.

"The rider of the moped caused damage to the vehicle after kicking the wing mirror off.

"He was given 6 points on his driving license, a community order, unpaid work requirement, ordered to pay £1,745.64 compensation and fined £95 victim surcharge."

The damage compensation related to both the wing mirror and other parts of the bodywork.
