MP for Richmond Park, Sarah Olney, has launched a petition calling on the Mayor of London to extend working hours at the A316 Manor Circus roundabout works near Richmond to 24-hours per day, in order to ensure the current phase of works is completed by the end of November.

The works, which began in August, are being completed to perform structural repairs in addition to road safety improvements, yet have caused severe traffic congestion and a recent water main burst, severely impacting the local community.

Transport for London recently agreed to extend working hours until 11pm to ease congestion after consultation with the Richmond Park MP and Richmond Council.

However, Olney's petition now calls for the Mayor of London to go further, and ensure that work is being done 24 hours a day at TfL's expense, to ensure the disruption is ended as quickly as possible.

Sarah Olney MP said: "The disruption at Manor Circus is wreaking havoc for local residents trying to get to school or into work, and these roadworks must be completed as soon as possible.

"The Mayor of London must get TfL working around the clock to get the works at Manor Circus completed without delay, and ensure the current phase of improvements is completed by November.

She added: "I encourage all local residents to sign our petition, and get Richmond's roads moving again."
