Richmond location features in new Bridget Jones film

A location in Richmond features in the fourth instalment of romantic comedy film series, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
Based on the novels written by Helen Fielding, the latest film follows Bridget (played by Renée Zellweger) now in her 50s and a widow navigating modern dating, motherhood, and personal growth.
She becomes involved with a younger man, Roxster (played by Leo Woodall), while dealing with the challenges of single parenthood and the evolving dynamics of her friendships all set in the backdrop of London.
Released in UK cinemas on 13 February 2025, the movie has one scene set in the gardens of Petersham House.
During a garden party with Bridget and her friends in attendance, Roxster rescues a dog from a swimming pool.
Director of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Michael Morris, said: "Petersham House in Richmond, which is partly open to the public, is where Petersham Nurseries are.
"It's stunningly beautiful; the food is impeccable, and the owners have the most extraordinary taste. It's a wonderful place.
"That house is a private residence and we were really fortunate to be able to shoot there over two days."
Reacting to featuring in the popular rom-com series, Petersham Nurseries commented via Instagram: "We were honoured our beautiful location in Richmond was chosen to set the scene for such iconic moments in the box office hit Bridget Jones, Mad About the Boy."
The iconic south west London garden will be opening to the public for one day next month. To find out more click here.
