Richmond: German School London to acquire and operate Sudbrook School

Local international school, German School London, has reached an agreement to acquire and operate Sudbrook School from 31 March 2025.
German School London (Deutsche Schule London, DSL) say it will ensure that Sudbrook School continues to "serve its community"
Sudbrook School is based at the former Village Hall of Church of All Saints in Petersham and for nearly 60 years has taught generations of young children from local families.
The DSL, on the other side of Petersham Road, has been teaching children aged between three and 18 years for more than 50 years.
Situated in the grounds around Douglas House, the DSL has long been providing excellent academic and career opportunities to local as well as international children.
DSL say the two schools share ethos and values and both offer first-class education in an international and friendly learning environment.

Co-owners of Sudbrook School, Jo Jotischky and Jackie Mitchell, said: "We are delighted that DSL is taking over Sudbrook School and will continue to run it as a children's nursery.
"Sudbrook has occupied a very special place in the community since opening in 1962 and it has been a privilege to have run the school for the last 20 years, earning three consecutive Ofsted Outstanding ratings, and educating generations of local children.
"We have always enjoyed a good relationship with DSL, and we know they have plans to grow the school, guaranteeing its long term future. We are happy to be leaving Sudbrook School in such good hands."
Oliver Schmitz, Headteacher of the DSL commented: "Sudbrook School is a perfect complement to the DSL strategy, because it allows the school to broaden its bilingual offering further to include younger years.
"It helps us to bring children together learning, living, creating and building bridges in our fantastic facilities".
Matthias Krauss, Commercial Director of the DSL, added: "We are delighted that this successful nursery will form part of our school and are convinced that the transition will be smooth.
"It will not only strengthen the school's long-term position but also widen the foundation for starting long-term careers at the DSL."
