Richmond Council is encouraging residents to take part in a new survey aimed at shaping its sustainable waterways strategy – with the added incentive of winning a gift voucher worth up to £100.

The survey, led by RRR Consultancy Ltd as part of the Mayor of London's Air Quality Fund project on healthy waterways, is being carried out across 14 London boroughs, including Richmond upon Thames.

It seeks to better understand how air pollution, fuel use and alternative energy options affect boat dwellers, and will explore boaters' awareness of pollution and its health risks, their current access to energy, and the barriers preventing a move away from solid fuels.

The findings will help inform councils, waterways organisations, and policymakers as they develop strategies to support sustainability and respond to the climate emergency.

Richmond Council said residents' input is vital to help improve support and living conditions for those on the water.

As a thank you for taking part, respondents can enter a raffle to win gift vouchers worth £50, £75 or £100.

The survey is open until Friday 30 May 2025. For any enquiries, contact [email protected] or call 01427 839686.
