Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was taken to hospital after she was thrown from a horse when it was attacked by a dog in Richmond Park.

The incident took place on Saturday 4 November at about 8:25am, near to Robin Hood Gate.

Julia, a 19 year old horse, was attacked by a dog and the rider was thrown from the horse, requiring hospital treatment.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and for the owner of the dog.

In a statement on social media MPS Royal Parks Police said: "The dog was described as a puppy, possibly a bulldog.

"The dog walker had seven dogs with him in total.

"He was described as a white male, 50-60 yrs old, grey facial hair and glasses.

"He was wearing a broad brimmed hat, checked shirt and gilet."
