Plans submitted to turn Kew office into two new flats
By Cesar Medina 22nd Feb 2026
Plans have been submitted to convert a two-storey office space in Kew into a mixed-use building featuring two new flats.
The proposal, put forward by Tugman Studio on behalf of Florin Alija, relates to The Studio, a ground and first floor building to the rear of a cottage on Cambridge Road.
The building has been in continuous use as commercial office accommodation for more than ten years.
Under the plans, The Studio would be converted from a two-storey office into a mixed-use property, retaining one ground floor office unit while creating two residential units on the first floor.
No external alterations to the building are proposed.
According to the applicant, each of the two flats would be independently accessed via a dedicated entrance and would be fully self-contained, with its own kitchen, bathroom and living facilities.
Tugman Studio said in its submission: "The development will make beneficial use of an existing building, introducing two high-quality homes in a sustainable and established residential environment without adverse impact on surrounding properties."
If approved, the applicants anticipate work beginning in March and being completed by June.
The application will be considered by the council in due course. To read the full application click here.
