GALLERY: Remembrance Day in Richmond in pictures by Simon Ridley

By The Editor 11th Nov 2020

Richmond remembers.

Residents turned out in numbers this morning at the riverside war memorial to mark Remembrance Day.

Attendees included Ken Pitcher and his wife of 62 years, Jean.

Mr Pitcher was of the former East Surrey regiment (now the Princess of Wales's Royal regiment).

He brought along a beautiful wreath which read: "To all the officers, warrant officers, NCO (non-commissioned officers) and other ranks who gave their lives in both world wars, 1914-18 and 1939-45, and in all other conflicts since: we will remember them."

A two-minute silence was observed at 11am.

Local photographer Simon Ridley captured the event.
