Petersham Nurseries in Richmond is launching the potting section, allowing visitors to select a pot to plant which is then collected at the end of their visit this May.

The new addition, located right in the heart of the Nurseries, will allow visitors to select a pot and choose plants from the seasonal collections on display.

The finished arrangement will then be ready for collection at the end of their visit.

The potting bench reflects Petersham Nurseries' passion for offering a hands-on, personal experience for each guest. Plant-lovers are welcome to browse and pick their own selection or seek advice from the expert team on how to find the perfect combination for their home or garden.

As the warmer months arrive, the potting team will be planting spring favourites including rich purple salvias, vibrant geums, butterfly-friendly scabiosa, and the pink-tinged tiarella 'Spring Symphony'.

A variety of pots will be available, ranging from small indoor planters and Petersham's own branded designs, to a selection of handmade Italian terracotta.

Petersham Nurseries' Head of Horticulture Byron Thomas said: "We want our customers to be able to create beautiful pots and containers, filled with the most beautiful plants of the season, with ease and simplicity to take away and enjoy, or as wonderful gifts for friends and family.

"The potting bench means we can design displays for visitors with plants at the peak of their season, along with those just coming into bloom for long-lasting visual appeal."
