Shops situated on Richmond's Paved Court have issued complaints over the flooding of the gully between Paved Court and Richmond Green.

Paved Court is an alleyway in Richmond featuring art gallery One Paved Court, as well as other retailers.

The iconic Ted Lasso pub is at the Richmond Green end of this alley and their outdoor tables are often seen to be underwater.

One Paved Court first complained about the flooding on February 22 2024 saying on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter): "Not at all good for business.

"No one can access the shops from Richmond Green and it's getting near our thresholds. The gully is completely blocked."

They complained again on February 29 and 1 March.

On the 8 March someone from Thames Water attended the site however during heavy rainfall today (12 March) they said it is now worse than ever.

A spokesperson for One Paved Court said: "The gully blocks periodically- I think it's due to tree roots- if the council don't maintain it.

"It makes Paved Court completely inaccessible from Richmond Green unless people are wearing Wellington boots.

"We have all reported it but so far nothing has been done.

"It's very bad for business!"

Today, Richmond Council Help replied to their tweet saying: "Please can you confirm the exact location of this and we will determine if this is private land or if we need to report this to our highways team.

Thames Water also responded stating that they have confirmed it is either a council or private issue.

Nub News has contacted Richmond Council for a comment but they have not responded.
