Part of Mortlake Road closes after burst water main causes 'extensive damage'

Richmond Council announce a road in Mortlake has closed due to a burst on the main over the weekend.

Thames Water have been dealing with a burst main since Thursday, 16 January, and have advised of a second leak on Friday, 17 January.

As a result, Mortlake Road at the junction with High Park Road has been closed.

Richmond Council say: "Due to the extensive damage cause by the burst water main, Thames Water contractors will be attending site tonight (20 January) to start reinstatement works on the carriageway."

These works are due to be completed on Wednesday, 22 January.
