Park Lane Stables officially home for Christmas!

By Rory Poulter 17th Dec 2021

Park Lane Stables RDA are officially the proud new owners of the home they previously had to vacate, it was announced today.

The beloved charity have finally picked up the keys to their home at Park Lane Stables today after a rollercoaster year saw them raise an amazing £1 million to stay in the borough.

There are now plans for a street party to celebrate the news.

Park Lane Stables RDA leader Natalie O'Rourke said: "The Park Lane site in Teddington has been a stables for over 200 years, and thanks to our amazing supporters it will now stay that way.

"We're so grateful to our immediate neighbours and local

community for their steadfast support which has truly sustained us on our journey. "Thank you to the incredible team of volunteers and trustees whose tenacity and optimism means we can

continue to share the magic of horses with those who need it."

The stables will be refurbished before the charity moves back in.

The new-look home will include a wall of bricks, each one sponsored by and bearing the name of a supporter.

Riding and carriage driving will be back in Bushy Park in the New Year.

While the Teddington premises are sorted the stables will stay in their temporary home at Manor Farm.

Ed Bracher, the chief executive of RDA UK said: "We are delighted that RDA can return to Park Lane in Teddington, a venue that has come to mean so much to so many people – and inspired such an outpouring of support and generosity from the local community and beyond.

"We are grateful to Manor Farm for taking in the group in their hour of need and ensuring that RDA activities could continue."

BBC Breakfast will be live from the stables this morning and members of the public are invited to pop round and say hello.
