Royal Parks Police said a person has been reported after a dog chased a large herd of deer in Richmond Park over the weekend.

Wendy Clark filmed these scenes in the snowy park on Sunday (January 24).

She said: "Well done to the police for swiftly apprehending this dog (& owner) in Richmond Park today.

"Very distressing for the deer. I hope the fine the owner receives makes them use a lead or up their training game."

Two men have been prosecuted in court over the past month after serious incidents in which their dog killed a deer in the park.

Sergeant Pete Sturgess of the Met's Royal Parks Command Unit said: "If you do not know how your dog will react around the deer, or you know they will chase them, then please respect the wildlife by keeping them under control on a lead, or choose an outside space other than Richmond or Bushy Parks to walk off lead."
