A multinational supermarket chain has put forward proposals to install signs at the former site of Amazon Fresh in Richmond.

Tesco submitted a planning application to bring one of its Express outlets to 27 The Quadrant, not far from its existing store on 29 George Street.

Since April 2025, 27 The Quadrant has been vacant following the closure of Amazon Fresh which was on the high street for three years before shutting.

The application from Tesco plans to install internally illuminated fascia signs, projecting signs and company graphics at the building.

In its proposals Tesco said the scheme would "respect the architectural character and historic significance" of the area and that it would be "proportionate and comparable to other retail units within the vicinity".
