New shop opening in Topshop's former store in Richmond town centre

A new shop looks set to launch in Richmond's former Topshop and Topman store.

An intriguing message has appeared in the George Street shop window. It reads:

Apologies for the inconvenience.

This store will be closed for two weeks while we carry out some works internally.

We hope this will make your shopping experience more enjoyable when we return.

See you all again on September 1.

It looks improbable that Topshop could be making a return.

A message on its website reads: "Our store at Richmond has permanently closed. You can find your closest store at Kingston Upon Thames, Croydon & White City."

Works to refit the store have stepped up in recent days.

Richmond Nub News left an email which was passed to the landlord of the property.

As soon as we hear what's happening, we'll update our story.

If you have any information about the future of the shop, we'd love to hear it: email [email protected]
