A new restaurant is set to take over the former Pitcher & Piano site in Richmond and it has revealed its opening date.

Offering what it calls a "simple, seasonal menu", Tower House will open at 11 Bridge Street, Richmond, serving "modern Mediterranean food with old-world Italian roots reminiscent of home, in a spirit of relaxed care and warmth."

According to its website, Tower House will welcome walk-ins from November, with table reservations available from December.

Taking its name from the 19th-century clock tower by Richmond Bridge, the new restaurant says it wants its dishes to tell "a collection of stories."

Tower House said on its website: "Our aim is simple; to honour the farms from one season to the next and pursue a minimal intervention cooking process, that pays homage to the quality of the ingredients and spontaneity in our cooking style.

"Whether it's a plate of grilled monkfish, fried rabbit, or insalata verde, our food is like a collection of stories that arrive at your table.

According to London On The Inside, the team behind popular Notting Hill restaurant Gold is also behind Tower House, with the new Richmond venue set to share Gold's Executive Chef.

Describing the dining experience, Tower House says the interior will feature "heirloom collectable pieces and beautiful objects which represent our passion for artisan craftsmanship."

The restaurant will also revive the outdoor terrace, offering views of Richmond and the River Thames.
