A new French bistro concept is set to open next month in Richmond, in the heart of south west London.
Mignonette will serve high-quality, but "affordable" French-inspired cuisine in "comfortable yet elevated" surroundings, cooking with sustainable and seasonal ingredients, the restaurant says.
From the founder and chef John McClements, who has come out of retirement after previously operating the award-winning French bistro chain Ma Cuisine (with locations across south west London in Twickenham, Kew, Barnes).
Mignonette will be located in the former premises of Restaurant 109 on Kew Road close to the roundabout junction on the A316, a five-minute walk from Richmond station.
The venue will be boutique, with just 30 covers, plus an exclusive private dining room downstairs.
Mignonette's menu represents the founders' vision of affordable French cuisine with a focus on seasonality and sustainability.
The restaurant explains: "The bistro will have daily specials, and a focus on elevating more affordable meat options rather than simply prime cuts, such as steak tartare, stuffed pigs trotter and ox cheek bordelaise, with daily fish specials and impressive vegetarian/vegan options to match."
Starters will be between £7-£12, mains £17-£26, sides £2-£5, desserts £5-£7.
