Richmond is a hotspot for £1m plus property purchases, research has found.
Estate agents Keller Williams UK analysed sold price records from the Land Registry between December 2019 and November 2020.
It found that 16 of the top 20 local authorities to have seen the most £1m+ property transactions in this 12-month period are located in the capital - with Richmond placed sixth in the list.
There were 497 transactions of £1m+ in Richmond and a median sold price of £1,388,616.
City of Westminster topped the charts with 876 million pound sales and a median price of £2 million. Kensington and Chelsea, Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham and Camden were also above Richmond in the list.
Keller Williams UK chief executive Ben Taylor said: "The higher tiers of the housing market have arguably suffered most due to Covid uncertainty and activity hasn't been boosted to the same extent as a result of the current stamp duty holiday.
"That said, it's reassuring to see that a robust number of transactions have still taken place despite the turbulence of the last year and this is a foundation that will no doubt be built on in 2021.
"Of course, London leads the way in terms of the sheer volume of sales but there has been activity across all regions of England and Wales and, in fact, some regions have seen these transactions complete for a similar or even higher average sold price than the capital itself."
