Nearly 30 groups in Richmond sign up to new lottery Get Lucky Local

Good causes and charities are queuing up to join the new community lottery Get Lucky Local which offers players the chance to choose which specific group they want to support in Richmond borough.

Nearly 30 groups from sports, the arts and charity sectors have uploaded their profiles to the Get Lucky Local website since tickets went on sale last Tuesday.

The first draw takes place on November 14 so there is still plenty of time to sign up. Tickets cost £1.

Groups which have signed up include:

  • Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth FC
  • Richmond Good Neighbours
  • NPL Sports Club
  • Ham & Petersham SOS
  • Ruils
  • Teddington Cricket Club
  • Crossroads Care
  • Richmond Talking Newspaper
  • Hampton Hill Cricket Club
  • Teddington Theatre Club
  • Hearts of Teddlothian FC
  • Skylarks
  • Dose of Nature
  • St James's Church
  • The Victoria Foundation
  • Half Back Sports

Several groups have already signed up enough players and supporters to reach their fund raising targets even before tickets go on sale.

Players can win cash prizes ranging from a £25,000 jackpot to £2,500, £250 and £250 as well as non-cash prizes for the first draw of an iPad and case of champagne.

Who benefits and how to enter

Unlike the National Lottery players can select which organisations will benefit from Get Lucky Local.

50p from every £ will go to the good causes in the community and other 10p will go into a general fund to benefit local community groups.
