‘Naked Ladies’ and all the beer you can drink

The Twickenham Beer and Cider Festival 2022 is taking place this month with a host of award-winning brews guaranteed to knock your socks off.

The list of ales includes the Champion Beer of London, 'Naked Ladies', which was developed by the area's own Twickenham Fine Ales.

The English Pale Ale is described as an outstanding, glorious, hoppy golden ale using Herkules, Celeia and Chinook hops for full-flavoured satisfaction.

The racy name is inspired by the statues of water nymphs in York House gardens in Twickenham, known locally as the 'Naked Ladies'.

This festival is designed for serious beer drinkers, who are focussed on hoppy aromas and serious discussions about Alcohol By Volume.

Hence it seems that while food will be available for all sessions, there will be no music and children will be banished to the garden for much of the event.

The 20th CAMRA Beer and Cider Festival is taking place from October 27-29 at The Turk's Head in St Margarets.

Organised by the Richmond and Hounslow branch of The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), this normally annual event returns after a two year break and is eagerly awaited by large numbers of beer and cider lovers.

The 100th anniversary of the founding of the BBC is chosen as the theme this year.

Nearly 50 real ales - many from local breweries -, ciders and perries are on offer.

The Festival is open daily from 12pm until 10.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with entry at £10 to include beer vouchers and a glass (with refundable deposit).
